A young man, Eisenheim (Edward Norton) in a European country had magician-like talent and he was so good that even the royalty wanted an audience to try to figure out his illusions. The prince (Rufus Sewell)and the Illusionist were in love with the same woman, Sophie (Jessica Biel). Later on within the movie it was believed that the prince had killed the young lady but the Illusionist was using the young lady in one of his acts which drove the young prince to kill himself at the end. The Illusionist helped the woman to escape the prince by faking her death and meeting and later on meeting in a secret place.
