Naomi Watts returns as Rachel Keller in the sequel to 'The Ring'. Having left Seattle behind and moved to the quiet town of Astoria, Oregon, Rachel Keller and her son Aidan hope to have also left behind the menace of Samara. Rachel takes a job with a small local paper run by Max Rourke (Simon Baker), and soon finds herself investigating the death of a local teenager, the details of his death sounding a lot like the deaths related to Samara. She determines to destroy the tape that caused the boy's death, and Samara determines to take revenge. Before long Aidan begins to exhibit a strange illness and several times sees Samara in the television and in mirrors. Attempting to solve the problem of Samara Rachel tracks down her birth mother, Evelyn (Sissy Spacek) who tells her to listen to Samara and take good care of her. Will she be able to stop the curse of 'The Ring'?
