Conradi-Horster

Friedrich Wilhelm Conrad Horster (* 1870 in Crossen an der Oder , † 1944 in Strausberg ), stage name "Conradi-Horster," was a universal figure of the magic with over 6000 full-length performances. He was author of many works of art and magic apparatus , the author of about 50 trade publications, club president of the magic friends and friend and adviser of almost all internationally known magician of his time.
Life
Friedrich Wilhelm Conrad Horst was the son of a Prussian official family born, he was ten years old in the former Decín occasion as a guest performance by Amanda Oeser-Ganser , later to "Armida," a first contact with magic. As a student completed his first literary attempt in the field of magic to remain at the Dresden School Cross . After his clerk training, he was the Hamburg trading house "Borwig & Horster," and had co-owners' representative as 1888 his first appearance with a full-length theater show in Neumünster in Holstein and expanded soon, the range of the company, the sale of magic items.
Due to the cholera epidemic of 1893, the headquarters of the company "Borwig & Horster," moved to Dresden. There was founded, later Horsterschen publisher. Horster was a lot more foreign languages and in translation "card acclaimed modern artist" and a periodical magazine published the. For the annual North Country Travel by Kaiser Wilhelm II gave Horster the programs and facilities. In the year 1896 is the creation of "first magic apparatus factory on the continent Horster and Kluge."
After a stopover in Nürnberg 1903 (Berlin) Schöneberg , Courbièrestraße 16 of the seat of his "Academy of Magical Arts" and the company "Horster'scher Verlag. With the relocation of the company in 1904 and is the center of Berlin ( Friedrichstraße No. 202, then 61 and finally No. 17) to manufacture, store and mail order company won, the Office was renamed in magic then, international recognition and was in professional circles as the "Mecca of magician" means.
Horster Conrad died at his second home in Strausberg near Berlin.
