Comments (Lybrary.com): A great little book from a great author. It is similar in style to the Hoffmann trilogy, though not as exhaustive. It covers the spectrum from little table tricks to grand illusions.

This is a fine little magic book in very good condition. The book is hardback, 6" tall by 4.5" wide, 244 pages long. In very good condition, showing minimal shelf-wear, please see photos above. There is some underlining in pencil in the introduction. The title page says, "MAGIC, In which are given clear and concise explanations of all the well-known tricks and illusions, as well as many new ones." Contents include Principles of Sleight of Hand, Tricks with Coins, Hat Tricks, Anti-Spiritualistic Tricks, Stage Tricks, Productions and a good section on SHADOWOGRAPHY, see photos above. The book is illustrated with many good drawings and the shadowography section, at 13 pages long, is quite nice, see a sampling above. This book is a great find for the collector or the magician looking for good usable material.
Another great find from the private collection of professional prestidigitator Jay Marshall.
