Magician's Handy Book of Cigarette Tricks-Camel Cigarettes-1933
Soft cover book, Magician's Handy Book of Cigarette Tricks, published by Camel Cigarettes, in 1933. This was the booklet, along with the newspaper ads for Camel Cigarettes that caused a flurry if indignation in the magic world in the 1930s. Camel's ran color ads, "It's Fun to Be Fooled, but It's More Fun to Know", and exposed many popular magic illusions. This booklet was part of that promotion. It contains simple magic tricks, and four of the "Fun to be Fooled ..." ads. Noted magician and magic dealer, Max Holden secretly helped Camel cigarettes with their series of magazine ads that explained magic tricks in 1933 under the tag line "It's Fun to Be Fooled, but It's More Fun to Know". It caused quite a scandal in the magic community, but no one found out Holden's involvement until after his death.
